Insulated Roller Shutters
Providing Security and Thermal Protection
What Are Insulated Shutters?
Manufactured in-house. Expert Installation. Ongoing Support.
Shutters are not only a great idea for security and protection, but also as a way to insulate against weather, wind, and noise. Insulated shutters make use of the cavity that is created in the design of twin-skin shutters.
By filling this cavity with insulated foam and other material the barrier that roller shutters create can offer more than security. They are available in a range of profiles and materials.
It is possible for lightweight aluminium insulated shutters to be used in home applications, or for heavy duty steel insulated shutters to provide LPS1175 approved security solutions.
They can also be certified for acoustic performance and fire resistance. For this reason insulated shutters are one of the most versatile types of shutter on the market.

How Do Steel Shutters Work?
Steel roller shutters are controlled either manually with a spring loaded barrel or hand-chain, or motor-operated with a single phase or 3 phase electric motor.
Depending on your requirements, some options may be better than others for your application.
For example, if you are using the shutter multiple times per day then a manual operation or 3-phase motor will be recommended to make sure the motor isn’t over worked.
If the shutter is the size of an average shop front, and you expect to use it once or twice per day (when opening or closing a business) then a single phase motor will be adequate.

Our range of steel roller shutters are ideal for your shopfront, carpark, warehouse, factory, or industrial unit. They provide great security to high risk areas, and are available in a range of colours, and a variety of styles, such as:
- Galvanized Lath
- Powder coated (any colour desired).
- Flat lath
- Tube and link
Perforated and punched finishes help to enable airflow and visibility into the premises, making them ideal for car parks or shops and other buildings with commercial applications.
Operation is available through electric motor (tubular or direct drive), or a counter balance spring for manual use. All electrically operated roller shutters can be fitted with any one of a variety of control options such as key switch, push buttons, remote control, keypad, and many more.
